I couldn't recommend the Goldings Communications team highly enough, for businesses in all sectors and industries. Their expertise in PR just puts you at ease, and when you do trust the process, the coverage off the other end is just incredible. Buyer beware! Hired Kim Hughes at Goldings to deliver a PR and Marketing Plan for my company, with the view to retaining them to manage our PR on a long-term basis. We were very impressed with their client case studies and previous work, and eager to work with them. However, two months after signing on with them to deliver this piece of strategy work, our team have been incredibly disappointed with both the quality of the documents finally delivered by Kim and Cassia, and Kim's complete refusal to acknowledge any issue with them. We have been simply told to "trust in them" and that any specific recommendations would come in time (despite this marketing plan being a standalone paid piece of work...). My favourite excerpt from the document is: "BLOG: Plan future blog subjects with the different target audiences in mind to ensure content for all." The "strategy" they have provided is a combination of our own team's creative input (something which took many hours of our time) and a list of incredibly generic recommendations, which anyone with some common sense would be able to think of. This isn't why we hired a PR agency. We could have created this "plan" ourselves, within a couple of hours. We were looking for specific, intelligent, thought-out recommendations and tactics, based on the knowledge and experience of a leading PR agency. Instead, we have been sent a document which resembles either a set of meeting minutes from our call with them, or a template from the Internet... I'm not quite sure which, but it's certainly not a standalone marketing plan. Goldings will insist that you make full payment in advance of this strategy work, something I have never been asked to do before with any other agency. Goldings will also attempt to lock you in to a six-month contract, with no clear way to exit the contract. Also something I (thankfully) questioned. The entire experience has been incredibly disappointing, and a complete waste of time for our team. Given Kim Hughes has refused to accept my request for a refund of this prepaid work, I have no choice but to pursue this formally.

The unbelievable work you did for us and our apprentice Loren. There is no doubt in my mind you and Cass will have had much easier clients however the dedication of your work is first class. Not only did you have very limited information to work with you had what can only be described as the pickiest of clients to deal with. Your hard work, clear understanding of what was needed and the obvious pride in everything you do shone through on our application and brought home our first award of what I hope is many to come, with your support I have no doubt this will be the case. Kim not only produced the exact requirements for an award entry. She went above and beyond multiple times to give us blog and press releases and tips and tricks for the future, there is absolutely no hesitation in recommending you to business associates, friends, family and anyone that will listen. Thank you again look and I’m looking forward to the next opportunity!
